The Infernotto refuge was born in 1928 on the initiative of the then Royal Forest Corps and with the contribution of two thousand lire allocated by the Municipality of Barge. The work was built with the aim of facilitating the reforestation work in the Infernotto valley and was then used by the State Forestry Corps as a tool shed and shelter for the workers involved in the maintenance of the nursery. In 1997, the property of the refuge returned to the municipality of Barge which gave it on loan to the local section of the CAI for use as a social hut. In the years 1998/99, thanks to the material provided by the Municipality of Barge, the contribution of the Municipality of Bagnolo and the labor provided by the CAI Section, the restructuring was completed. It currently has 15 beds in bunks and is equipped with a kitchen, toilet and shower. The request for the keys for access must be made to the CAI of Barge.
