Beautiful waterfall. You can view it from above and below.

Multi tiered waterfall located in the Spearfish Canyon State Nature Area. The waterfall gets its name from stagecoach pioneers locking the wheels of their coaches (or roughlocking) in order to prevent the wagons from taking damage while traversing the drops. There is also a picnic area in order to stop and enjoy the beautiful scenery with a packed lunch.

There is a short walk along a trail to the waterfall, which is a great spot to cool off and get out of the sun. If you want to skip the walk, there is also a viewing platform on the south side of the Latchstring Inn restaurant. In addition to the restaurant, there is parking and restrooms.

The walk to the waterfall is short, the waterfall itself is very photogenic. There were few people there.
