Lammassaari Boat Harbour in Imatra is a quiet, scenic harbour area on the shores of Lake Saimaa, ideal for a peaceful break during a cycling trip. It’s located close to the city centre but feels secluded, with views over the lake and small islands. The area has benches, a pier, and green space, making it a good spot for a picnic or short rest. Access is easy via paved roads suitable for trekking and cross bikes. While there are no shops directly at the harbour, services in Imatra are nearby, so it’s easy to stock up before or after your visit.

Kirjamoinsalmi is a narrow strait located in the eastern part of Finland, connecting the waters of Lake Saimaa. It is the perfect place to stop off and admire the scenic landscape.

okay bike path running right next to the road, continues a bit further north beyond this segment, occasional lakeside views, and the local industry does not smell as bad as did in the 1980s :D for what it’s worth, the alternative route via Salosaari (Kaljaniementie/Patotie) is nice as well...

great views of the lake especially from the bridges and the embankment, in the southern end I strongly prefer this version to the one going next to all the houses (read: driveways and side streets) on Tyysterniementie/Voisalmentie; the path continues alongside the road further north for another 4 km into Taipalsaari village
