南に隣接するGrindelrietがあるBergweiher池は、人気のローカルレクリエーションエリアであり、湿地の植物や動物にとって貴重な生息地です。ビーバーもそこに定住し、巣を建てました。そのため、池の南部と湿地帯は保護されています。北側では水浴びが可能で、ピクニック/バーベキュースペースのためにレクリエーションゾーンが設けられています。

An interesting contraption, especially when it's running. From April to mid-October, it runs daily at 11:00 AM, 3:00 PM, and 7:00 PM for 8 minutes each time.

There are many small paths along the Limmat that are very exciting to explore.

The Zürichhorn, together with the Blatterwiese, forms a large green area right by the lake. Here you can admire some monuments or works of art, such as the Eureka by Jean Tinguely, or simply lie down on the grass and relax.

I would have liked to see the idle engine in operation; I can't imagine anything moving in it.

It's nice to stroll along the river.

The Bürkliplatz was created after the bulwarks of the former city fortifications were demolished. The city engineer Arnold Bürkli was responsible for the construction of the quay from 1882 to 1887. Land was heaped up on the lake shore and the quay bridge created a continuous lake promenade with avenues, meadows and parks. Today, the Bürkliplatz is a shipping pier and the starting point for tours on Lake Zurich. The square is also a versatile event location: the “Bürklimäärt” vegetable market takes place here twice a week, and the flea market on Saturdays in summer. The square also serves as the start and finish point for many sporting events.

Here the landscape has the typical moraine character of the Alpine foothills formed by glaciers.
