It's a pleasant place to linger. Very friendly staff and good food. However, it's self-service.

It's a shame that the goats are no longer there and can roam freely. They were always nice encounters.

If you take a break, you won't rust here, but will find a great location. It's worth stopping by even with kids.

To the right of the hiking lodge (near the fire pond) is the "Jahn Oak" (marked with a corresponding stone). This old oak was named after Friedrich Ludwig Jahn (1778 - 1852), better known as "Turnvater Jahn". There is also a memorial stone here to mark the 100th anniversary of the death of "Turnvater Jahn".

The Hohe List is a former forest service building, built in 1832, is located away from roads and can only be reached on foot via forest paths. The Hohe List is managed and maintained on a voluntary basis by the members of the Palatinate Forest Association Hohe List. A visit is well worth it and the food here is excellent.

Beautiful accommodation at the Naturfreunde Haus with reasonable prices. Bring your own towels for the night or rent them on-site.
