path not very passable after 2km

The path is spectacular, with a few scrambles on the way up and down. In between there are always vultures above and below you. And of course great views of the Jonte Gorge.

A great trail with beautiful views of the Gorge du Tarn and the occasional vulture nest in the rocks above. There are frequent detours to viewpoints. Towards Le Rozier, the trail descends gently. Easy to walk throughout, with no scrambling required – unlike the continuation of the Gorge de la Jonte.

What can I say? Look at the photos. Trail along the edge with minor technical challenges. Nice 👍

The Tarn is the river that flows at the bottom of the eponymous gorges to throw itself a few hundred kilometers further, into the Garonne. Ideal for cooling off during scorching summers, it is also an unparalleled place of rest and relaxation. From the beaches, have fun watching the few fierce explorers descending the Tarn in canoe kayaks.

The Tarn Gorge was one of the most beautiful sections of the route through France for me. The D907 winds its way towards the pass (1088 m) in numerous curves without excessive gradients. Picturesque villages, one of the most beautiful landscapes, always spectacular views of the river or the mountain range, bridges, rock tunnels... it's totally versatile. Campsites can be found at regular intervals (although not all are open in the low season). Canoes can be rented on the river.
