Høystakka Waterfall plunges down a steep rock face, sending spray into the air as it carves its way through the rugged mountainside. The trail approaching the falls follows natural, sometimes uneven terrain with rocky sections and patches of grass, adding a touch of adventure to the experience.

A very beautiful river course, easily accessible on foot from the parking lot, although some of the trail is over hill and dale. Things get interesting after about 0.75 km. By the way: You've probably already passed the (small) waterfall further down the mountain, which is fed by this river.

Beautiful waterfall! The view from the ledge at the top is particularly beautiful when you can see the water flowing down and then meandering through Stora Valley. With us in July (2015), the Hellerfossen also represented the border between the already completely green valley below and almost continuous snow cover above the waterfall.
