The castle, which dates back to the 13th century, was badly damaged by an earthquake in 1348. A new building was constructed in the second half of the 14th and early 15th centuries. The oldest part of the current complex is the keep in the east wing. The castle is now privately owned. Holiday homes can be rented there.

The story of the Kluža fortress is caught in the extraordinary nature, between the steep slopes of Rombon, Slemena and the emerald green, 70 m deep Koritnica riverbed. Here you will feel and admire the drafts of the past that marked this important strategic position, also called Bovška vrata. The Kluže fortress is located 4 km from Bovec in the direction of the Predel pass.

Former Benedictine monastery built on the ruins of an old castle, which burned down to its foundations in the 19th century. It has been restored by volunteers for over 30 years and offers extraordinary impressions and views of the mountains. The association runs a small museum on the monastery hill.
