In the winter, Alpe Tza de Fontaney is the end point of a snowshoe trail that starts from the cross-country ski center. This well-marked trail is very popular, and is therefore usually well-groomed. The climb out of the forest to reach the mountain pasture can be quite challenging when faced with deep, soft snow.

The hut has been successfully modernized, combining old and new. Not much of the old hut's charm remains, but everything is now more spacious, well-designed, and bright, including a wonderful lounge with panoramic windows. The hut can also be reached as a day trip by taking the bus to the dam and walking around the lake—with a coffee stop at the Chanrion Hut.

La Tza de Fontaney, located at 2,300 meters above sea level in the heart of the Saint-Barthélemy valley, is an alpine pasture that enchants with its natural beauty and breathtaking view. Lake Luseney, nestled at over 2,500 meters above sea level, is one of those places that seem to have been stolen from silence. Reaching it requires effort, but the reward is a breathtaking landscape, with rocks, moss, and the sky seemingly closer. It's one of those places that stays with you, from which you depart with full eyes and a lighter soul.
