The Montepulciano Lake Regional Nature Reserve is an oasis of tranquility and beauty. Here, you can admire various species of both resident and migratory birds. The dense reed bed on the western shore creates a highly evocative aquatic environment.

Not far from the Trasimeno and Chiusi lakes, very close to the border with Umbria but still included in the territory of the Tuscan Montepulciano, this lake has a surface area of almost two square kilometers and is part of the homonymous protected natural area. It has a maximum depth of five meters.

It is a beautiful village located on a promontory on the western shore of Lake Trasimeno. Already inhabited in Etruscan times and then by the Romans (when it was called Clusium Novum, meaning new Chiusi), it owes its name to the construction of the Lion Castle in the mid-1200s. In 1914 the seaplane base was built, which later became the site of the Royal Air Force fighter school. It is pleasant to get there from the cycle path, central to Arezzo, Cortona, Perugia, Chiusi. Cycling around the lake is beautiful especially in the early morning. Visit castiglione del Lago or Panicale definitely worth it. You can eat delicious food there
