Alpe Nivoiaj, located at about 1,380 meters above sea level, is a historic mountain pasture near the hamlet of Campidaglio, in the municipality of Pont Canavese. Starting from Campidaglio, it is located shortly after Alpe di Pian Russa. The map shows the presence of a water source, but in March it was not operational. Perhaps it is in the warmer months. The part of the trail that continues from here to the intersection with the trail coming from Frachiamo is exposed to the North West, so it is reasonable to expect residual snow if it is winter or early spring. This mountain pasture represents a significant stop along the hiking trail that leads to Punta Arbella (1,879 m), a panoramic peak that offers spectacular views of the surrounding valleys.

Alpe di Pian Russa is a mountain pasture located at about 1,332 meters above sea level near the hamlet of Campidaglio, in the municipality of Pont Canavese. This mountain pasture represents a significant stop along the hiking trail that leads to Punta Arbella (1,879 m), a panoramic peak that offers spectacular views of the Soana and Orco valleys, as well as the main peaks of Piedmont and Aosta Valley. If you follow this trail in the winter or early spring season, you will most likely still encounter a good amount of snow in the section after Alpe Nivolaj up to the intersection with the trail that comes from Frachiamo.

Refuge managed by the "Amici della Montagna" association and accessible only after taking the keys. After leaving the dirt road, it takes more than an hour to reach it, with a steep climb at times. Continuing to climb, you can reach Punta Verzel, Rama, Quinseina as well as other destinations

Open refuge with the possibility of having a shelter inside and equipped with stoves and a small kitchen. There is also a separate shed with barbecue. The Refuge is a place to be respected and kept clean.

refuge in a spectacular position exposed to the sun, manager and staff really friendly and helpful, I recommend a phone call to make sure it is open, or to book lunch, from here round trip to the top of Monte Soglio about an hour on foot, if you want to get on a MTB a bit of portage must be taken into account.
