Lake Valbona, located near Schilpario in the Scalve Valley, is one of the most fascinating and little-known places in the Bergamo Orobie mountains. Nestled in a green valley between the mountains, this small body of water offers an atmosphere of absolute tranquility, ideal for those seeking an excursion away from mass tourism and close to pristine nature.

Typical alpine lake of glacial origin, located at 2060m in the Valbona Valley, from which it takes its name. It can be reached starting from the Passo del Vivione and following the path that goes up alongside the Valbona Torrent and its lower waterfall. Once you reach the Malga Valbona, you go up further and you can reach it in a few minutes.

Beautiful refuge immersed in nature. Impossible not to stop after the hard climb pedaled😉

The Vivione pass is an ideal destination for hiking lovers. Located at approximately 1,828 meters above sea level, it connects Val Camonica and Val Seriana offering breathtaking landscapes. There are several excursions you can do starting from the Vivione pass. One of the most popular is the excursion to Lake Barbellino, a beautiful alpine lake surrounded by majestic mountains. Another interesting excursion is the one towards Mount Vivione, which offers a spectacular view of Val Camonica. The pass represents the arrival point of the Antonio Curò naturalistic itinerary.
