This wooden construction stands along the north-western ridge of Mount Sirente, just downstream from Colle di Mandra Murata and near the Vecchia bivouac, a former observatory, a particularly panoramic point.

The bivouac must be taken care of: don't leave practically useless objects behind with the excuse of leaving them for someone else to come. A gas canister with enough gas for perhaps one cigarette is best taken back down the valley. I threw away the cards last time and replaced them with new ones. The bivouac should be left "slightly" better than it was when you found it.

The refuge, adjacent to the little church, is always open and welcomes you with tables, benches, a fireplace, and wood!

Beautiful chalet on the slopes of Mount Sirente, excellent as a starting point for excursions on the mountain of the same name.
