Among the Caparnie, stone buildings of the shepherds, the first was transformed into a bivouac and named after the mountaineer Gigi Panei.

Managed mountain refuge, it is possible to stay overnight and eat: call only via WhatsApp which the phone does not receive.

The refuge is managed by the CAI section of Avezzano, it is not always open and you need to call to reserve beds or other activities (cell +39 345 162 6570). It doesn't have a winter room, so if you arrive and it's closed you have to camp outside. The refuge is located in a wonderful area: right at the entrance to the Majelama valley and at the foot of the imposing Cafornia mountain.

This is a large picnic area with shelter located on a hill overlooking a volume. Volubrums are artificial water basins used to water animals. The refuge is typical of the Apennines: not guarded but managed by local clubs who keep it tidy and clean. It can be reached with an easy walk from Campo Staffi.

Rifugio Capanna di Sevice is a high altitude refuge in the Monte Velino massif, at an altitude of 2119 metres. It is located on the Piano dei Cavalli, between Monte Velino and Monte Rozza, with a view of the Three Sisters. It can be reached from Santa Maria in Valle Porclaneta or from Passo le Forche
