From the Pietrapiana cave to climb to the shelter on the north peak of Mount Finestra you have to take a panoramic but quite treacherous path (T3-T4), part of the "Sentiero Italia - Stage S17S" Trekking clothing, sturdy shoes and some mountaineering experience.

Reaching the north peak of Mount Finestra is quite challenging. It is good to know that at the top there is a refuge that can be useful in case of need. To reach the refuge, trekking clothing and sturdy shoes are essential.

The Santa Maria del Monte refuge is located on a plateau of the Lattari Mountains, at over 1000 meters above sea level. It has 13 beds and an outdoor rest area with benches and tables, and offers a panoramic view of the Gulf of Salerno, the Amalfi Coast and the island of Capri.
