From the Pietrapiana cave to climb to the shelter on the north peak of Mount Finestra you have to take a panoramic but quite treacherous path (T3-T4), part of the "Sentiero Italia - Stage S17S" Trekking clothing, sturdy shoes and some mountaineering experience.

On the Chianiello, a clearing about 200 meters high, on the northern side of Monte Cerreto, chain of the Lattari Mountains, there is the "Casa del Guardiano" refuge, built on the remains of an ancient ruin by the Municipality of Angri on the initiative of the Association " The Chianiello ”. The Chianiello is a terrace surrounded by woods of chestnut trees and wild nocelleti and the panorama stretches from the Lattari Mountains to the Gulf of Naples, from Vesuvius to the Sarno valley. Various paths start from Chianiello that lead to the discovery of places and the peaks of the Lattari: the districts of Lettere and Corbara, the "Red House", 590 meters, the cave of S. Maria della Speranza, 782 meters, the clearing of "Cauraruso", 1005 meters, the summit of Cerreto, 1316 meters where the path "00" of the Alta Via dei Lattari passes which from the Badia di Cava reaches Punta Campanella. The Refuge has an area of 100 square meters with 16 beds, kitchen, fireplace and services and is managed, following an agreement with the Municipality of Angri, by the Association. Open all year to individuals and groups, previously booked and authorized.
