Here you are standing at the easternmost point of the Kulkwitzer See, which is also affectionately called Kulki. On the opposite side is a peninsula where the "Kulkwitzer See" campsite is located. Its colorful wooden huts, which are based on Scandinavian architecture, are characteristic. Maybe you can spot some of the colorful huts behind the bushes and trees.

Thanks to its crystal clear water, the Kulkwitzer See is one of the most popular diving areas in Germany. It emerged from two former lignite opencast mining areas. In 1963 years the open pit mining was finished and the remaining holes were flooded. The recreation area was opened ten years later.
