The Ermitage is a large and lovingly designed green area from 1785, with three idyllic ponds, several romantic grottos, historical buildings, pretty walking paths between the shore and the edge of the forest and, on top of it all, the castle ruins of Bierseck Castle, as the crowning glory of the whole. It was only in 2008 that the Baslerweiher passed into the possession of the canton of Solothurn and immediately became the largest lake in the canton - knowing some historical facts absolutely does no harm when biking through a beautiful landscape. The Grün 80 is very popular especially in fine weather. I enjoy the park in the green therefore rather in "worse" weather and can go there in peace with my dog.
