Wonderful view of the volcanic cones of the Hegau. The hut was locked. There is a small barbecue area and a few seats with a table. The area is relatively small. The hiking trail and mountain bike trail lead right past.

Child-friendly barbecue area for children: Who says you can't get children to go on a forest tour? Anyone who has ever taken them on a nice MTB tour will (have to) do so again and again. This place is particularly suitable for a trip with children because there is a large playground here. The grill area is also beautiful. A beautiful hut with catering. The food is great but a bit expensive for German standards.

Shielded from the path by trees, one could scale the summit of the Hohenstoffel without seeing this wonderful abandoned quarry. That would of course be a mistake, because the basalt rock, in its hexagonal diversity, knows how to convince. It towers imposingly towards the summit, while in front of it a cliff falls like a step onto the lower plateau of the quarry. There a meadow softly covers the ground. You long for the sun, you want to spread out your blanket on the grassy floor and let the day pass over you. Preferably with sun, warmth and content serenity.
