Turning from the main street in Dambulla's center onto a side street, you immediately find yourself in the countryside. Peace, rice fields, a lake. A little escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. A little caution is required as some dogs defend their house and property.

Next to the entrance to the Golden Temple and the large Buddha statue there is a lake, which also offers a beautiful view of the statue.

In Sri Lanka, there are many inland freshwater reservoirs, which they call 'tanks'. This road is a particularly scenic one, taking you right alongside Kandamala Tank, where you can see lots of bird life from herons and egrets to pelicans! Savour the views on this smooth tarmac.

Kandy is a diverse and interesting city. Temple, lake and the nearby fauna and flora.

A small oasis in the city of Kandy, which is completely congested by traffic. Unfortunately, the lake can still be circumnavigated without traffic. The most beautiful section begins at the Qeens Hotel, past the Zahn Temple.

Beautiful lotus flower lake. In the morning, people go out by boat and pick the flowers and stems which are either deposited as sacrificial offerings at temples or eaten. Absolutely taste, taste very delicious.
