We set off in February 2024, the peak season for Buddhists, one day before the full moon at 1:00 a.m. in order to be at the summit in time for sunrise. Unfortunately we didn't make it and didn't get to the top until around 7:30 a.m. The reason was by no means a lack of fitness, but rather thousands of Buddhists who all want to visit the Buddha's footprint. With the summit in sight, we had to join an eternal queue. We finally reached the top and the view was definitely worth it

Nice hike, but extremely overcrowded and the park entrance fee is outrageously expensive at €39!

The loop leads to World's End, Mini World's End and Baker's Falls. You are not allowed to leave the path, so getting lost is impossible. Easy hiking tour of almost 9.5 kilometers through the beautiful highlands of Sri Lanka.

Located at 2,200 meters, the World's End descends 880 meters vertically. During the hike you are largely exposed to the sun. During the rainy season the path can become very muddy. Take enough drinks with you. A hike to the World's End is a must when you're in Sri Lanka.
