The Gorge of the Dead (Greek: Φαράγγι Νεκρών Farángi Nekrón), also known as the Gorge of Zakros (Φαράγγι Ζάκρου Farángi Zákrou) or Valley of the Dead, lies below the town of Zakros, west of the Minoan palace near Kato Zakros in eastern Crete. During the summer months, the gorge is one of the most popular hiking destinations in eastern Crete.

Pelekita Cave is a large, impressive cave on the east coast of Crete, near Kato Zakros. It is approximately 310 meters long and contains enormous stalactites and stalagmites. The cave was already inhabited in the Neolithic period and is located near an old quarry. It can be reached by a hike of about an hour or by boat. A flashlight and sturdy shoes are recommended due to the slippery surface.

Pelektita Cave is very interesting. Easy hike and easy access to the cave. Beautiful stalactites and stalagmites. I definitely recommend taking a flashlight with you. A little further along the shore there are ancient quarries.

The Milona Gorge is a gorge, situated near the village of Agios Ioannis, in the municipally of Ierapetra in Crete. There is a 10- to 15-minute drive from the town of Ierapetra to the gorge. It has a large waterfall at the end of the walking path. The walking path is only a 20-minute walk from the road, and it is quite easy to follow. At the end of the path, you will find the 40-metre height fall of Milona.
