Great view, path a bit steep, beautiful landscape

Ancient tower set in a unique context

Montepagano is a small historical village, the oldest hamlet of Roseto degli Abruzzi. It stands separate from the city, on a hill from which the view is enchanting, caressing the heights until it reaches the sea, shining and clear. The medieval heart of the village, which fascinates the traveller and transports him to a distant time, is its castle, perched and rich in works of art, a veritable treasure chest of great value. But the protagonists here are the flavours: on the hills surrounding the village, olive trees and vineyards are cultivated, yielding internationally renowned oil and wine. Its village is part of the 'Authentic Villages of Italy' association. Montepagano is not enough to look at: we must taste it, experience it... letting it conquer us. Appignano is a hamlet of Castiglione Messer Raimondo. It preserves the typical structure of medieval villages with a suggestive fortified wall that dominates the surrounding landscape. Worth visiting are the Church of San Pietro, Palazzo De Leone, owned by the De Victoriis Medori – De LeoneMedori foundation and the tower in via del Castello.

The size of the Fortress is impressive.

The Della Monica Castle in Teramo was the home and studio of the artist Gennaro Della Monica (1836-1917), who began building it on the site of the ancient church of San Venanzio in 1889 following a neo-Gothic style.

Castello Della Monica is located outside the historic center of Teramo, in the Piazza Garibaldi area. The work of the artist Gennaro Della Monica has recently been restored (other works are still in progress) and can be visited.
