The Hervidero Waterfall is a double waterfall on the Guadalix River, nestled in a rocky canyon and surrounded by riverside vegetation. It can be reached via a flat and easy 7 km (round trip) route starting from San Agustín del Guadalix, ideal for family hikes.

Be careful because the recent rains have caused a new landslide next to the previous one, and the road was closed by forest rangers.

The collapse, despite its few meters, a mix of hiking and carrying that raises the heart rate of even the most experienced, always offers one of the most picturesque views of the Madrid region near the capital: the confluence of the Manzanares and Jarama rivers, the Presa del Rey, a privileged panoramic view over parts of Rivas and Arganda, facing the mountains where much of the Battle of Jarama took place, and of course the cliffs. Having passed by there many times, it never leaves me indifferent.

Is it known how it is possible that, being a protected area, Guadarrama has a private reserve and for a short time? Who owns it? With cameras...with guards...! Are we in Venezuela? " "Who puts fences in the countryside 🌼"

A curious place in the middle section of the Guadarrama River as it passes through the Molino de la Hoz near Las Rozas. Unfortunately, it used to be possible to cross here to get to the other side of the river, but now it is all fenced off with signs prohibiting entry. Even so, it is worth reaching this place.

One (the largest) of the two quarries in the area. The excavated material was used for the Madrid - Irún railway section. It occupies the basin of a seasonal stream. On its northern edge is La Cueva del Abrigo del Aljibe (on a private livestock farm).
