The Sierra de Alcaraz is part of the pre-Betic system, a subdivision of the Betic mountain ranges. The predominant vegetation includes reforested pine forests between 1,000 and 1,600 metres, and low scrub near the summit. The most common ascent route is along the south face, starting from the Pino de los Muchachos spring. Although it is not a difficult mountain to access, the climb requires some physical preparation.

Pico Mentiras is one of the highest peaks in the Sierra de Segura, reaching an altitude of 1,896 metres. It is located in Calar de la Sima, within the Calares del Mundo y de la Sima Natural Park. The most common route to climb Pico Mentiras starts from the village of Arguellite.

La Peña Palomera is an impressive peak located in the Sierra de Segura, near Yeste. It is located in the Calar de la Sima, a mountain formation that extends between the provinces of Albacete and Jaén. One of the most popular routes starts from the village of Arguellite and offers a circular route of approximately 21.9 km with a gradient of 1,040 metres.

If you pass by the path next door, it is worth detouring a few meters to this point. The views of the entire area from this height are very good.

At the highest point of the calar, you find the geodesic vertex of Pico Argel at 1,699 meters. The endless panoramas you get from the top are second to none.

A unique geological formation that formed around 7 million years ago. It rises to a height of 1,365 meters above sea level and is surrounded by an extensive plain of volcanic origin known as the Campo de Volcanes de la Hoya de Huesca. The Cancarix Volcanic Python has a crater about 500 meters in diameter and 150 meters deep.

Climb up and around the peak of La Peña del Cambrón mountain west of Villaverde de Guadalimar in Los Calares del Mundo y de la Sima Natural Park. Spectacular views of the valley and surrounding peaks.
