The castle, or rather, a small castle. Tickets cost 23 złoty. I recommend stopping by, even if only for a moment. It's worth seeing.

Uniejów Castle is one of the city's most important attractions, picturesquely situated on the left bank of the Warta River. Built between 1360 and 1365 at the initiative of Archbishop Jarosław Bogoria Skotnicki, it replaced an earlier wooden stronghold. For centuries, it served defensive, administrative, and residential functions, and after renovations, it gained Renaissance and Baroque elements. It is surrounded by a romantic landscape park with rare trees, perfect for strolling. Today, the castle houses a hotel, restaurant, and conference center, and the entire structure can be visited, admiring the restored interior and 25-meter-high tower.

Admission is free, and the castle is not locked. Note for campers: waste disposal is available in the parking lot. The castle itself is accessible to people with disabilities – stairs lead to the courtyard, but there is also an elevator (I cannot guarantee its functionality).

The executioner in Wieluń was not only responsible for carrying out court sentences but also served as the city's sanitation officer, removing animal carcasses from the town as part of his municipal duties.

This medieval tower, known as "Męczarnia" (Torture Chamber), was built at the turn of the 14th and 15th centuries as part of Wieluń's defensive walls, serving as the city prison and executioner's workshop. The tower played a defensive role during the late 16th century when Habsburg forces approached the city, and it survived centuries of decay before being comprehensively restored in the second decade of the 21st century with EU funding. Today it houses two permanent exhibitions: "In the Chamber of the Wieluń Executioner" showcasing the history and tools of local executioners, and "History of Weaponry in Medieval and Old Polish Times" focusing on the military history of Wieluń's residents.
