It is a very beautiful valley and a good place to linger. Unfortunately the hut is only open on Saturdays.

The most famous vantage point with a beautiful view of the city is dedicated to the gallery and portrait painter and park designer Samuel Diez. The Diezhäuschen was destroyed by arson in 2013 and rebuilt by the city of Meiningen in 2015.
