I have to be a bit of a smart-ass here: The pictures show the Wulfbach stream, which still flows into the Danube here, as well as the cycle path along it. But the truth is: It's incredibly beautiful and unspoiled here.

Many lakes one after the other, some in the nature reserve. Beautifully laid out swimming lake. Very nice area to take a break and relax.

There is a point here where the descent is a bit steeper. Good shoes are an absolute advantage here, especially when it's wet. You have to be careful there

Center of Meßstetten-Heinstetten The water supply is guaranteed by the Hohenberg Group Water Supply Association, which is based in Meßstetten. Part of the historic water supply is still in operation today and is used to supply extinguishing water in the event of a fire. The surface water from the snowmelt is collected in an artificially created bucket.

The 'top' (northernmost) lake in front of the bridge over the Ablach is open for swimming. All others are reserved for the animals. The Schwackenreuter lake district is a nature reserve. There is a sign with a map near the parking lot at the viewing platform, on which this bathing lake is named and described as Lake No. 6. --- The Schwackenreuter lakes are pure nature. Wild life testifies to the power of nature. A diverse flora and fauna has developed there from what the gravel quarrying wonderfully modeled and left to us. This is a place to stay. Here you can let your soul dangle. In the middle of the nature reserve, there is a bathing lake. Access is open, swimming is free, but at your own risk. Enjoy bathing in a natural lake. Numerous waterfowl have become accustomed to the presence of humans. However, it is advisable to always keep a reasonable distance. A trip to our Schwackenreute lake district is always worthwhile, even all year round. It is best to follow the signs from the Schwackenreute level crossing. (Source: www.tourismus-bw.de)

There is a small, park-like green area across from the town hall. Nicely designed, also with a few benches around the pond.
