A true insider tip are the little brothers of the famous Blautopf here in the valley on the edge of Schelklingen. Both the Achtopf and the Urspringtopf impress with their blue color, just like their "big" relative in nearby Blaubeuren. The water's name, "Topf," reflects its bowl-like shape. Karst springs are usually the end of a cave system, where a cave stream reaches the earth's surface. Whether one enjoys the bright blue of these two springs depends on external influences, as the striking blue color of the water is caused by the scattering of light from the lime-saturated spring water.

Hello, Great impressions and information from the Blautopf. Very worth seeing, a small path leads all around. Not wheelchair accessible. Rollator would go, the path is uneven. The blue of the water is very clear and impressive, there are many opportunities to enjoy the beautiful, quiet nature and also to listen to the sound of the water. Simply fantastic for young and old. Significantly less crowded than the Blautopf

One of two "pots" at Urspring. Oh and Urspring flow together here, the Urspring pot is at the monastery. Less crowded than the famous Blautopf. Nice to pause.
