The Blautopf is the most beautiful and, after the Aachtopf, the second largest karst spring in Germany. Its catchment area extends over approx. 160 km². From the 21 m deep funnel-shaped spring pot springs the blue. Its bulk amounts to an average of 2,270 liters per second, but can reach up to .32,000 l / s. Under the blue pot, the largest karst cave system in the Swabian Alb is suspected.
