At that time, the lake enabled regular swimming lessons, and soon there were no non-swimmers left in Dürnau. Today, it is no longer a bathing lake. The Feuersee already existed when the municipality was first surveyed in 1828. On the eastern shore, the owner of the oil mill owned a small plot of 1312 m² and a 1968 m² lake portion. From there, he channeled the water to the mill. The mill channel was approximately 0.80 m wide at the bottom and lined with sandstone. The branch off Raubeckstrasse to the east did not yet exist at that time. The valley cut was filled in for it. In the 1930s, the then teacher Friedrich Mühlhäußer and the students of his senior class remediated the rather silted body of water. On the south side, boards were nailed onto embedded beams, creating a non-swimmers' compartment. A staircase facilitated access.

Beautifully situated forest lake with all kinds of animals, many insects and fish can be seen here.

The Turm wetland is a designated natural monument and habitat for countless insects, amphibians and the great crested newt. With a bit of luck, you might even spot the small, agile water shrew. But please stay on the official paths.

The ski lift is in the immediate vicinity. There is a bench just a few metres away. The water level is quite low at the moment.

It is likely a newly created or constructed water source. The amount of water was manageable at the moment.
