The horseshoe-shaped "Tiefes Reitgaar" is a small natural lake south of the Lower Saxony town of Neuenhaus. This legendary and mystical body of water lies at the end of a dead-end road leading off Reitgaarstraße, called "Zufahrt Reitgaar," in the Grasdorf district. It is a refuge for waterfowl. A wooden table with two benches is provided for relaxing.

The Bargerveen is the largest contiguous raised bog area in the Netherlands. More than 2,000 hectares remain of the once 3,000 km² Bourtanger Marsh. Here peat hills, peat moss, swamps, swamp forests and lakes form the landscape. The cycle path leads you nicely through this.

A nice place to eat your sandwich on a bench. There is a camper place near this lake.

The lake was created shortly after the turn of the millennium through sand mining and is now used as fishing water. On the shores of the lake, you can enjoy the tranquility and observe the flora and fauna.
