Location The Jümmesee is located southwest of the Stickhausen district of the municipality of Detern, which is one of three member municipalities of the Jümme collective municipality. It is only separated from the Jümme river of the same name by a dike. The lake has neither inflows nor outflows. History The Jümmesee is named after the Jümme river, which flows directly past the lake. It was created in the early 1980s by the extraction of sand for the construction of the B 72, which leads from the Cloppenburg junction of the A 1 to the ferry dock in Norddeich.
