The deer shines in new splendor, and from the Mauselum you have a great view of the lake. A beautiful place.

Great place for a break and picnic

The Großlabenzer See is located in the district of Parchim and in the district of Nordwestmecklenburg northeast of Schwerin. Larger communities in the area are Warin and Brüel. The neighboring communities are Blankenberg, district of Friedrichswalde, and the town of Warin, district of Großlabenz. The lake is divided into a northern basin, the Schwarzer See, and the much shallower southern basin, the Weißer See. The deepest part of the lake is in the northern basin. The average depth is 10.2 meters. The lake is almost completely surrounded by forest and is therefore a popular tourist destination.

The bronze deer is a well-known statue with a history.

Was here often as a child. The mausoleum used to be open and you could take a look inside through the bars.

Unfortunately, the two benches directly on the hiking trail were very overgrown and not really usable. The figure is indeed very impressive and the story about the mausoleum and the deer is very interesting. Both can be read on an information board right at the entrance. The view of the lake is gorgeous.

Never again, in the forest you will soon be eaten up by mosquitoes, I was lightly dressed and almost ran through to avoid being sucked dry....👎 Also so badly marked that I got lost.
