There used to be huts at the fish ponds where the owners of the fish ponds stored their utensils. It has changed a lot.

The observation post is newly built and allows a wonderful view of the newly created breeding islands for lapwings, etc.

It's simply wonderful to use the huts. A fantastic view of all the creatures that crawl and fly around. Today: lapwings, swans, ducks, geese, and kites.

From the western lookout point, you have a unique view of the extraordinary diversity of the Brietz ponds. This valuable wetland habitat for migratory and breeding birds offers excellent living conditions for meadow and reedbed nesters such as marsh harriers, snipe, and water rails. White-tailed eagles, cranes, and black storks also find ample food here. In winter, northern geese and whooper swans use the waters as a roosting site. With a bit of luck, you might also spot otters and beavers, which have resettled in this area.

Dreamy ponds on the edge of the path along the Dummewiesenweg.

A nice place for a picnic or a break, e.g. during a bike tour or hike. There is some seating here and even a public barbecue area with a grill (must be registered in advance if you want to grill there).
