The observation post is newly built and allows a wonderful view of the newly created breeding islands for lapwings, etc.

It's simply wonderful to use the huts. A fantastic view of all the creatures that crawl and fly around. Today: lapwings, swans, ducks, geese, and kites.

The Kolborn laundry room was still used for washing clothes until 1985. Nowadays it is a pretty little pond with two benches on the shore, which are good for taking a break during a bike ride or hike.

From the western lookout point, you have a unique view of the extraordinary diversity of the Brietz ponds. This valuable wetland habitat for migratory and breeding birds offers excellent living conditions for meadow and reedbed nesters such as marsh harriers, snipe, and water rails. White-tailed eagles, cranes, and black storks also find ample food here. In winter, northern geese and whooper swans use the waters as a roosting site. With a bit of luck, you might also spot otters and beavers, which have resettled in this area.

A pretty little village pond where you can usually see a few ducks. At the edge of the pond there is a bench that you can use for a break during a bike ride or hike, but on which you unfortunately sit facing the village street and not the pond.

According to a legend, the pepper pond was formed by the large hole, which was caused by the stone throw of the giant Jan Kahle, which then filled with water. But anyway, it is nice to stay there and there is a well-kept park around.

Here you are well protected from all weathers. Can watch the waterfowl well. For nature lovers who want to see more, it is advisable to take binoculars with you. The ponds are well frequented by several species of birds. We could see cranes, swans, ducks and geese. Smaller species are sure to be present as well. But it's too far away for the naked eye.
