A very large, brick-built hut that comfortably accommodates even a whole group. A lovely spot, and not directly on the trail.

In the Lüneburg Heath and the Southern Heath, bees were traditionally kept in straw-woven baskets. To protect them from rain, wind, and strong sun, these baskets were placed in simple wooden huts called bee fences or bee houses. The open front served as the entrance for the bees, while the beekeepers did their work from the back. There was usually a door or hatch through which the hives could be accessed without disturbing the bees' flight activity. Thus, the hut simultaneously provided protection for the colonies and practical working opportunities for the beekeeper.

Unfortunately, the lake and the water cannot be reached directly due to the dense vegetation, and even the view is limited. The shelter is small, but as we all know, there is room in the smallest hut ;-) Quiet at all times!

a nice hut with a bench right on the way, good for a break. Next door is a lake where the frogs croak loudly. A really nice place.

Nice in the shade in summer, but sometimes the water smells quite foul.
