Beautiful, secluded location in the heart of the Tollense Valley, surrounded by farmland and meadows. I'm already looking forward to its completion and opening.

Broock Castle, once the social center of the region and the largest private stud farm in Western Pomerania, will be expanded into a supra-regional conference and cultural center in the coming years. Since May 2023, our guests will be served in the new village shop with café-bistro and beer garden.

It was a double moated castle, as the two brothers Hartwig and Heinrich Maltzahn had a terrible falling out. The upper wall was called "the right castle", the lower wall "the outer castle". Both had their own gates and bridges to the land route! The upper part was partially destroyed when the Tollense was straightened. Unfortunately, the remains of the foundations can no longer be viewed today because there is no access to them and everything is overgrown!

Even though it has been destroyed for so long. It is a wonderful place. You would think the visitor is in England.

The mighty walls of the monastery and castle complex are the flagship of the town of Dargun and a magnet for many visitors. The imposing walls of the former monastery, which was converted into a castle in the 16th century and badly damaged by arson in 1945, can now be admired on a tour or an exciting guided tour of the grounds. The old walls house the town information center and an exhibition room, among other things. 300-year-old yew trees and a unique hornbeam avenue invite you to take a stroll in the castle park, and newlyweds can say “I do” in the romantic 17th-century tea pavilion. If you would like to experience Dargun from a lofty height, you can climb the 25-meter-high observation tower in the monastery and castle complex. From there you have a wonderful view of the complex and the entire town. In the former guest house of the monastery, the 760 m² "Uns lütt Museum" is on display, a lovingly furnished local museum that you can touch and try out. The town information office is located in the built-up part of the complex and has a wide range of offers for you. Originally there was only a monastery here, which was rebuilt into a Renaissance chateau in the 16th century. In the last days of the Second World War, the castle fell victim to a fire. The ruins are impressive, as is the entire ensemble with the monastery church, the brewery and the tea pavilion.

After a fire in the complex in 1945, the main complex consisting of the Renaissance castle and the monastery church built in the style of brick Gothic is only preserved as a secured ruin. The ensemble with its outbuildings such as the brewery and tea pavilion is a listed building. During the summer season, music performances and exhibitions take place in the ruins of the monastery church and in the inner courtyard of the castle. In the Mecklenburg Lake District model park in Neubrandenburg there is a model of the castle that shows what it looked like before the fire. A sandstone chimney from Dargun Castle found its place in the "Sylvester Gallery" of Schwerin Castle (Wikipedia).
