The remains of Galenbeck Castle lie in the forest between the town and the lake.

The first mention of Galenbeck Castle comes from a document from 1277. The building was destroyed during the Thirty Years' War. The ruins of the castle tower and the exposed foundation walls of other buildings still testify to medieval fortifications

Rattey Castle is located in the middle of the old park and 700-year-old oak trees at the foot of the Brohmer Mountains in north-eastern Mecklenburg-Strelitz. The manor house, built in 1806, was extensively renovated between 1996 and 1998, true to the classicist specifications, and converted into a castle hotel. Rattey surprises the guest not only as a wedding - but also as a wine castle. The quietly located castle hotel at the foot of the Brohmer mountains is embedded in a park. Built 1802 -1806 by Hans Christoph von Oertzen. The castle was built between 1236 and 1250 and was one of the most important castle complexes in Mecklenburg in the Middle Ages. The keep, the remains of which today form the "Leaning Tower", was built in the third phase between 1390 and 1453. After the castle owners Riebe interfered in an inner-city Stralsund conflict, a Stralsund force conquered and destroyed the fortifications of the castle in 1453. Source: Wikipedia
