In 2017 the fate of the hut, beautifully situated above Vahle, stood. The state foresters gave up the hut - it was threatened with demolition. A group led by the mayor of Vahl stepped in and has been taking care of and managing the hut ever since. Quite "sleepy" area. On this tour we had almost only meadows and (primeval) forests with some huge and old oaks, larches, beeches and a few more species. There is no such thing as flat and straight. This landscape is bedded in huge meadow areas. These are currently just beautifully spotted with dandelion. The Espolde river runs through the meadows and along the woods. The Espolde meanders and gurgles wonderfully. A great spot for hiking and relaxing!
