In the Schorfheide, "hunting and power" have been intertwined for almost 1,000 years. The permanent exhibition of the same name, which extends over the ensemble of hunting lodge, museum barn and coach house, illustrates this using examples from history and contemporary history. A multimedia presentation gets you in the mood for a tour of the exhibition. Readings, lectures and classical concerts can also be attended in the hunting lodge. The castle park invites you to linger with its sun terrace. During the Thirty Years' War, the village and the castle were destroyed by Danish troops. Only the stone tower of the church remained. This makes it the oldest building in town. In place of the destroyed castle, Prussia's Elector Friedrich Wilhelm had a hunting lodge built. Today's castle was built by Prussian King Friedrich Wilhelm I. Today it houses part of the exhibition "Hunting and Power", which is important in terms of hunting history and politics.

Hello my love, at the weekend (27.5.22) I visited the park and the hereditary burial. The park is - as often described - overgrown, which is what makes it so special. When the weather is warm and humid, the park offers something mystical. Nightingales accompany you on enchanted paths. Definitely recommendable!

In the hunting lodge Groß Schönebeck, today used as a museum, there is a very interesting permanent exhibition "Hunting and Power". In addition, a room in the castle is used by the registry office as a wedding room.

The hereditary burial is worth seeing, the park is overgrown on the meadows, but the paths are easy to walk on. The wooden bridge is actually closed.
