A really beautiful spot on the Neisse: you get close to the river, have a beautiful view of the Rothenburg weir and can take a rest in the hut.

Slightly elevated, the viewing point with a shelter offers a beautiful view of the opencast mine and the renatured areas. However, the active opencast mine is a little further away; display boards explain mining processes and provide information about the opencast mine.

It's really not worth going there anymore. Unless you want to look at spoil heaps. Active mining is too far away.

From this point you have a view over the Reichwalde opencast mine to the Boxberg power plant. A stable bench and the hut invite you to linger. A few paths on these recultivation areas may now be used, albeit at your own risk.

From a small hill you have a view over the lignite open-cast mine in a northerly direction to the Boxberg power plant and the Upper Lusatia military training area. The vantage point is in the form of a small shelter on a hill, where you will find information boards about the mining process, the mining sites and the power plants, or the drainage of the opencast mine and the rerouting of rivers such as the Weißen Schöps.

There is a cottage on top of the Hochstein. Here you can eat and drink well and cheaply. There is also a parking lot here for those who do not want to hike. A lookout tower and some rocks to climb up.
