Built by students of the forestry school that used to be in Schwarzburg. A nice place to rest and look towards the mountain spur on which Schwarzburg Castle is enthroned. Heinrich Cotta is also remembered here. He excelled as a forest scientist and is the founder of the Forest Academy in Tharandt, Saxony, which is still recognized worldwide today. Johann Heinrich Cotta (born October 30, 1763 in the forester's house Kleine Zillbach between Zillbach and Wasungen; † October 25, 1844 in Tharandt) was a German forest scientist. One of the most beautiful viewpoints at the Leibis-Lichte Dam! A wooden shelter adorns the mountain & gives your photo subject a special flair. With a bit of luck, you will have this place to yourself, which, however, rarely happens. Please take a seat and enjoy the breathtaking view of the blue water and lush green of the surrounding forests. This is what Thuringia looks like!
