This beautiful, small shelter (with table) of the PWV Gleiszellen-Gleishorbach used to be a few meters further up. After major pipeline excavation work, the traces of which can still be seen everywhere here, it was moved about 50 - 100 m. (As of Nov. 2024) This shelter is not to be confused with the large bar hut of the PWV Klingenmünster (big festival on May Day!), which is located very close by a little further down.

The location of the Ritterstein is now CORRECTLY located! It is located to the right below the shelter (if you are standing in front of the hut); it can only be seen from the concrete forest road (up to the Hohe Derst) as its back faces the shelter. The "PWV" abbreviation is no longer visible on the Ritterstein or has disappeared into the ground (on the left?). Instead, the letters "K. T." (= cadastral triangulation?) are located at the bottom right. "The original namesake of the place - Three Oaks - were destroyed in the war (1939-45). This is because the main battle line of the West Wall ran along this area. Later, 3 new young oaks were planted there. (Eitelmann, p.33)."
