The Kriemhildenstuhl, more rarely also Krimhildenstuhl (with a short i), in the forest district of the Palatinate district town of Bad Dürkheim (Rhineland-Palatinate) is a former Roman quarry. It was operated around the year 200 AD by the 22nd legion of the Roman army, which was stationed at the Mainz base a good 60 km away. PWV Hütte, here there is good wine and delicious food made according to grandma's recipe. Here it is still quaint, a slightly smaller indoor area, large outdoor area with children's playground. On quiet evenings you can also see one or the other wild animal in the nearby clearing. A large hiking car park is nearby, ideal for seniors or small children for mini hikes. Here you can find sweet chestnuts at the right time of year (first come, first served)

Hut is currently closed.

Located directly on the Ungeheuersee, very large outdoor area. When I'm there it's always closed.... I've never seen the hut in use (there are probably only a few days a week here) Managed by the PWV, it will probably be difficult to find volunteers?!?!?! But if you are self-sufficient, you will always find plenty of seating here for a picnic.
