The monastery garden, which previously served as a fruit and vegetable garden for the monastery tenant, was converted into a monastery park in 1965. Students from the Technical University of Hanover (Horticulture Faculty) took on the planning of the redesign as part of a competition. During a sculpture symposium in 1984, several sculptures were placed in the monastery park. Among them was a wooden figure of the patron saint of the Lamspringe monastery church, St. Dionysius. The park thus also serves as an "open-air museum". Skates must be taken off when walking through the park - the paths are not asphalted. If the lake is the goal of a tour, don't forget your towel! The lake is located in the flow area of the Saale, which is fed directly nearby from the mountain water of the Hils. The water quality is correspondingly good.

The area around the lake is currently being redesigned for flood protection. The water level has dropped, but the trail can still be walked on. At the moment, the "high" bank looks a bit desolate, but the vegetation will certainly beautify it again soon.

There is a circular path around the Bruchsee a little from the shore that you can cycle. A narrow hiking trail leads directly along the shore, is not so easy to cycle on, should be left to the hikers.

Today the water level was so high that you couldn't walk the actual hiking trail and had to wind your way along the slope, which was a bit laborious. Unfortunately the kiosk was also closed.
