Mining took place in the Osterwald from 1585 to 1926. The Hüttenstollen was excavated from 1842. Today it is a visitor mine that offers interesting insights into a fascinating underground world. The history of hard coal mining, the working conditions of miners in the 19th century, 145 million years of geological history, all of this comes to life during a guided tour through the Hüttenstollen.
