Lake Hoffeld, a former basalt quarry on the Burgkopf hill above Hoffeld, is not open to the public. It is used by the Hoffeld 1990 e.V. fishing club and is fenced off on all sides.

Former basalt quarry I've even been swimming there before. If you're nearby, it's definitely worth a visit.

Beautiful lake near Blankenheim

I don't really understand what it is. It's run by an association of the Catholic Church. There are beautiful old buildings, but also more modern functional buildings. There's also a farm shop and a nice sports field. I was here once and didn't see a soul, but today there are endless people.

Beautiful lawn for sunbathing on the banks of Lake Freilingen. The nearby restaurants invite you to stop by for delicious food and cool drinks. On summer weekends when the weather is good for swimming, it can get quite crowded here.

Very nice destination with plenty of leisure opportunities. Some walking and hiking trails invite you to explore the surrounding area.

Clemens Josef House | Vellerhof Embedded in green nature Welcome to the Clemens Josef House. This institution of the Rhenish Association for Catholic Workers' Colonies e.V. is often also called Vellerhof. People in need of help find a home in the Clemens-Josef-Haus in the Eifel, surrounded by lush forest areas and far away from the "street". The Clemens-Josef-Haus has been sponsored by the Rhenish Association for Catholic Workers' Colonies since 1927. The Vellerhof was first mentioned in a document in 1122 in the chronicle of Blankenheim. In 1927 the Vellerhof was sold and the new owners renamed it Clemens-Josef-Haus after the club's chairman at the time, Mr. Clemens-Josef Adams.
