The outdoor pool in Königstein is one of the most beautiful bathing opportunities in the Amberg-Sulzbach district. The bath water comes from a natural spring, the surroundings are wonderfully green. Since 2018 there has also been a bathing festival here in summer.

At the information point at the Königstein open-air swimming pool, there is not only a hiking map of the area, but also the starting point for various circular hiking trails and the access to the "Botanical Educational Path" and to the Ossinger. In addition to parking spaces, there are also flyers for the hiking trails.

These smaller ponds, artificially created in the Middle Ages, were used by the nobles for fish farming. Today they are left to their own devices, are used for recreation and offer a diverse living space.

This pond got its name based on the "fast gallows" that used to stand here. The Vilseck Chronicle describes: "Some Vilseckers, who only obeyed laws and regulations when they brought them advantages, could easily be forced and encouraged through a" quick gallows treatment "to serve the welfare of all again in their lives. ) The quick gallows was an effective means of coercion.
