The Naturfreundehaus Wernersreuth advertises itself as an "inn in the countryside," offering regional cuisine and a tranquil holiday atmosphere. It serves hot meals all day on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and on Sundays and public holidays from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. The house was built in 1860 as a Royal Bavarian Forest Lodge. It has been operating as an inn since 1970, and Petra and Robert Bock have been the chefs since 2001.

The TUS Mitterteich cross-country skiing center. In winter, with sufficient snow conditions, you can enjoy cross-country skiing on scenic trails approximately 2-7 km long.

Delicious dishes and nice to sit outside

The Hammerrang is located just outside Waldershof. The area has been used for outdoor festivals since 1907. Until 1961, the people of Waldershof celebrated their Hammerrang festival here. From 1971 onwards, the Waldershof local group of the Fichtelgebirge Association organized snack hikes to the hunting lodge there, with the destination Hammerholz. In 1976, people remembered the old festival site and started to use it again. Because the drinks had to be laboriously transported there with a wheelbarrow from the cold storage room of the nearby sports center, the idea arose in 1982 to build a massive beer cellar with a bar that could also serve as a youth meeting place. On May 31, 1984, the small building was inaugurated in the presence of the FGV's chairman, Dr. Helmut Reinel. At the entrance from Wolfersreuther Straße, a large memorial stone commemorates the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Waldershof FGV local group in 2002. Today, the local history association has about 430 members.

Here you can find good home cooking at a moderate price. The food tastes delicious, the salad dressing, for example, is homemade. In summer, the beer garden is a particular reason to visit the Forsthaus, because here you can sit under old trees in the middle of nature. Opening times: Tuesday to Thursday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

You can also stay overnight here. Very nice and spacious apartment.

The Kohlberg (632 m above sea level) south of Arzberg is also called the Sugarloaf. The 32 m high Waldenfelswarte observation tower offers a wonderful view of the surrounding area. Binoculars and panoramic overviews that can be used free of charge help with orientation. The Waldenfelswarte is the highest observation tower in the Fichtel Mountains.
